Business Overview:

Airbus Group SE (Airbus) is engaged in aeronautics, space and related services businesses. Company provides a wide range of passenger airliners from 100 to more than 600 seats. Airbus also offers tanker, combat, and transport and mission aircrafts. Its helicopters business provides civil and military rotorcraft solutions worldwide. Airbus primarily operates through three business segments: Commercial Aircraft, Helicopters and Defense and Space.

Commercial aircraft segment develops, manufactures, markets, and sells commercial jet aircraft of more than 100 seats; aircraft conversion and related services; development, manufacturing, marketing and sale of regional turboprop aircraft and aircraft components. In 2017, this segment delivered over 718 aircrafts (compared to 688 deliveries in 2016) and received 1, 229 gross orders (compared to 949 gross orders in 2016), or 50% of the gross worldwide market share (in value terms) of aircraft with more than 100 seats (compared to 54% in 2016).

Company’s Helicopters segment is engaged in the development, manufacturing, marketing and sale of civil and military helicopters; provision of helicopter related services. This segment delivered over 409 helicopters in 2017 (418 in 2016) and received 335 net orders in 2017 (compared to 353 net orders in 2016).

Defense and Space segment primarily focuses on core businesses: space, military aircraft, missiles and related systems and services. Its military aircraft business designs, develops, delivers, and supports military aircraft such as combat, mission, transport and tanker aircraft as well as Unmanned Aerial systems and their associated services. Its space systems business designs, develops, delivers, and supports full range of civil and defense space systems for telecommunications, earth observations, navigation, science and orbital systems. This segment’s communication, intelligence & security business provides services around data processing from platforms, secure communication and cyber security.

For the fiscal year ended December 2017, company’s revenues increased EUR186 million or 0.3% to EUR66.8 billion, as compared to the revenues in fiscal 2016. Increase in revenue for fiscal 2017 was due to increase in Airbus Commercial Aircraft which was driven by higher deliveries of 718 aircrafts.
