Business Overview:

Brinker International, Inc. (Brinker) owns, develops, and franchises the Chili’s Grill & Bar (Chili’s) and Maggiano’s Little Italy (Maggiano’s) restaurant brands. Company’s Chili’s has a global presence with locations in 31 countries and two territories outside of the United States. Chili’s menu primarily includes gourmet burgers, sizzling fajitas, baby back ribs and hand-shaken margaritas. Maggiano’s offers full lunch and dinner offering chef-prepared, classic Italian-American fare in the form of appetizers and entrées with bountiful portions of pasta, chicken, seafood, veal, prime steaks and desserts. By the end of June 2018, Brinker owned, operated, or franchised 1,686 restaurants, consisting of 997 company-owned restaurants and 689 franchised restaurants.

For fiscal 2018, Brinker’s revenue decreased to $3,135.4 million, a 0.5% decrease from the $3,150.8 million generated for fiscal 2017. Sales decline in 2018 was primarily due to a decline of restaurant sales, closure of underperforming restaurants and temporary restaurant closures associated with Hurricanes Harvey and Irma in the first quarter of fiscal 2018.
